Statement

I am fascinated by the microcosm and macrocosm of life and with alternative ways of seeing and being in the world.

I have always used craft techniques in my art and am currently using Polaroid manipulations as a way of utilising my photographic images in a hand-crafted way. Sometimes these are presented as they are, sometimes they get incorporated into mixed media paintings and collage. Either way, each individual item is unique. The following techniques are used for the Polaroid images:

The photographs are taken with a digital camera, then the digital images are processed into old-fashioned film slides. I then put the slides in a projector and expose them onto Polaroid film. These are either made into transfers, or the emulsion is lifted onto cotton rag paper. The prints are then either presented as they are, or worked into collage or mixed media (painted) pieces.

The highest quality artist materials are used with attention to trusted techniques in mixed-media processes.
